Two free concerts at 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. today kick off the final day of the Jazz in the Olympics Festival, followed by several more performances and a dinner event this evening.
The venues include Vern Burton Community Center, 308 E. Fourth St.; Eagles Club, 110 S. Penn St.; and Red Lion Hotel, 221 N. Lincoln St.
An event pass for performances from 10:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. costs $15, or $10 for high school students with ID.
Here is today’s schedule:
9 a.m. — JITOS Youth Band, Vern Burton.
9:30 a.m. — Black Swan gospel, Vern Burton.
10:45 a.m. — Belvedere Broadcasters, Vern Burton; Grand Dominion, Eagles; High Sierra, Red Lion.
Noon — High Sierra, Vern Burton; Black Swan, Eagles; Climax, Red Lion.
1:15 p.m. — Independence Hall playing “Brass Marmalade,” Vern Burton; Buck Creek, Eagles; Federal Jazz Commission, Red Lion.
2:30 p.m. — Grand Dominion, Vern Burton; Climax, Eagles; John Royen on piano, Red Lion.
3:45 p.m. — Black Creek, Vern Burton; Independence Hall, Eagles.
6 p.m. — Independence Hall, Buck Creek and Federal Jazz Commission, Red Lion. Reservations needed, call 360-457-0424. Cost for this “afterglow” event is $27.50 for dinner, music and gratuity.
Shuttles will run between the venues today from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Shuttles make the loop of the venues every 30 minutes.
