SEQUIM — Clallam County Sheriff’s deputies and Sequim police officers continued on Tuesday to investigate the thefts from the Jamestown Healing Center and Home Depot in Sequim.
An excavator valued at about $29,000 was reported stolen from the Jamestown Healing Center site at 526 S. Ninth Ave., in Sequim on Monday morning and was discovered in the Diamond Point area later that day, according to a press release issued by the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday.
It was an orange Kubota Mini-excavator with Jamestown Excavating written on the body and arm of the equipment.
Deputies obtained a search warrant for the Diamond Point property and, with assistance from the Sequim Police Department, recovered the excavator as well as three riding lawn mowers recently stolen from Home Depot in Sequim, deputies said.
Surveillance video recorded a white Ford F150 4×4 extended cab pickup truck with a diamond plate tool box and chrome running boards entering the Jamestown Healing Center property at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday. It was pulling a dual axle flatbed trailer, deputies said.
