Stoneman named acting ad director of PDN, its related media

PORT ANGELES — Sue Stoneman has been named as acting advertising director of the Peninsula Daily News, its weekly newspaper, Sequim This Week, and its Web site, www.peninsula dailynews.com.

Stoneman will hold the position until a new director is selected and will continue in her current position as advertising operations manager.

She succeeds Suzanne Delaney, who had been advertising director since September 2009.

Delaney left the PDN to become a manager in the advertising department at the St. Petersburg (Fla.) Times.

“Not only does Sue have a long history of exceptional leadership at the PDN, she has already capably served two previous tours of duty in the acting director position,” said John Brewer, PDN publisher and editor.

“She has a great deal of passion, experience and energy as we continue to serve the North Olympic Peninsula community in new and exciting ways and continue our growth as the Peninsula’s No. 1 source of news and advertising.”

Said Stoneman: “My first priority is our advertisers — and helping them grow their businesses to their fullest potential through the great print and online portfolio the PDN has to offer.”

Stoneman joined the PDN in October 1991, working for about six months as an ad taker before being promoted to classified advertising manager.

She became advertising operations manager, overseeing both classified and display advertising, in 2002.

Before joining the PDN, she worked at the American Institute of Banking, the educational division of the Washington Bankers Association in Seattle, for about six years.
