PORT TOWNSEND — Veterans can access a variety of services at the Stand Down in Port Townsend from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today.
Voices for Veterans will host the Stand Down at the Elks Lodge, 555 Otto St.
The event will help connect veterans with medical and dental screening, information for colon and breast cancer screening, housing information, employment and education, veteran benefits, counseling, legal aid, haircuts, pet supplies and new clothing.
Hot breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Free transportation will be provided on Jefferson Transit buses.
Voices for Veterans is a nonprofit that assists homeless veterans, veterans in need and their immediate family members.
The organization conducts Stand Downs three times per year, in Forks in May, in Port Townsend in July and in Port Angeles in October.
