Snow forecast for eastern lower elevations of Peninsula

Weather forecasters aren’t quite sure how much yet, but they say lower levels of the North Olympic Peninsula — and much of Western Washington — could see snow by Friday.

A huge Arctic air mass is converging on the region from the northwest.

Rain is expected by tonight — and it could turn to snow at some lower elevations of the North Olympic Peninsula by Friday night, forecasters said.

The National Weather Service in Seattle said snow could fall in East Jefferson County and the Sequim-Dungeness Valley on Friday.

But it’s unlikely to be in large amounts, forecasters said.

Farther west on the Peninsula, the precipitation is likely to stay liquid in coastal areas from Port Angeles west and south to Forks.
