PORT ANGELES — Four grief counselors were stationed at Jefferson Elementary School on Monday to help students and staff cope with Sunday’s shooting death of a frequent substitute teacher and mother of two pupils.
The district’s crisis team was activated Sunday evening when Superintendent Gary Cohn learned of the death of Christin Stock, 35.
Stock was shot to death by her ex-boyfriend, Jeffrey Calvert, 41, who then killed himself.
Stock was a frequent substitute and soccer coach at Jefferson Elementary in Port Angeles, Police Chief Terry Gallagher said.
Cohn said he as well as counselors, extra substitutes and staff were on hand at Jefferson throughout the day.
“There was a fairly large number of folks there to help, and the folks were debriefed this evening after the students departed for the day,” he said.
