BRINNON — ShrimpFest continues today with belt-sander races, vendor booths, musical entertainment and, of course, Hood Canal shrimp.
The festival, which began Saturday, will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at 251 Hjelvicks Road off U.S. Highway 101 in Brinnon.
The gate fee is $5 for adults. Children younger than 12 are admitted free with a paying parent.
All proceeds will be donated to community projects.
At the festival, Brinnon’s main community fundraiser, more than 900 containers — each with 16 ounces of frozen Hood Canal shrimp — were to be made available beginning Saturday at $15 each.
Belt-sander races are set for 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Live music will be featured morning and afternoon and more than 50 vendors will offer a variety of good.
The Brinnon Parks and Recreation District board of commissioners is organizing the festival with guidance from the Emerald Towns Alliance.
