SHELTON – A Sequim woman is dead and her husband was hospitalized after a Wednesday car crash on U.S. Highway 101 in Mason County.
Jacqueline Ann Farmen, 58, was dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred around 3 p.m.
Anton Olie Farmen, 86, was taken to Mason General Hospital in Shelton, said the State Patrol.
The hospital did not provide Farmen’s status when asked on Thursday afternoon.
According to a report from the State Patrol, Anton Farmen was driving northbound toward Jefferson County on Highway 101 when his 2003 Toyota 4Runner crossed the median and struck a tree on the opposite side of the road.
The State Patrol said the cause of the wreck was driver fatigue.
The State Patrol did not cite Farmen.
Both people were wearing seat belts.
The crash occurred about two miles south of the Hamma Hamma River and the town of Eldon.
