SEQUIM — An escapee from a Spokane-area prison is in the Clallam County jail in Port Angeles awaiting charges after he tried to elude a Washington State Patrol trooper.
Ronald Ruhuby Hawkins, 36, is expected to appear in Clallam County Superior Court this week on a charge of residential burglary.
The burglary charge stems from his alleged break-in of a cabin on West Sequim Bay Road while trying to escape capture.
But Hawkins may be extradited to Spokane County to face felony charges there related to his escape from Airway Heights Corrections Center in Airway Heights, where he was serving a 63-month sentence for residential burglary.
