School back in session in Sequim; other Peninsula schools begin next week

Sequim students shook off first-day-back-to-school jitters Wednesday as students across other North Olympic Peninsula public school districts relish their final days of summer break.

Regular classes in the Sequim School District began Wednesday at Greywolf and Helen Haller Elementary schools, Olympic Peninsula Academy, Sequim Middle School and Sequim High School.

Port Angeles

Students in first through 12th grades in the Port Angeles School District begin Tuesday at Port Angeles High, Lincoln High, Stevens Middle, Dry Creek Elementary, Franklin Elementary, Hamilton Elementary, Jefferson Elementary and Roosevelt Elementary schools.

Port Angeles High will hold a Rider Day to welcome incoming freshmen from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday in the main gym.

The first day of preschool and kindergarten will be Friday, Sept. 8.

Port Townsend

Students in first through 12th grades in the Port Townsend School District start classes Tuesday at Blue Heron School, OCEAN, Grant Street Elementary School and Port Townsend High School.

Half-day kindergartners start next Thursday, Sept. 7; preschoolers and full-day kindergartners start Monday, Sept. 11.

Crescent

Students in first through 12th grades in the Crescent School District start classes Tuesday at Crescent Elementary, Crescent Middle and Crescent High schools.

Kindergartners start Monday, Sept. 11.

Cape Flattery

Students in first through 12th grades in the Cape Flattery School District start classes Wednesday at Neah Bay Elementary, Neah Bay Junior/Senior High and Clallam Bay schools.

Kindergartners start Monday, Sept. 11.

Quillayute Valley

Students in first through 12th grades in the Quillayute Valley School District start classes Tuesday at Forks Elementary, Forks Intermediate, Forks Junior High and Forks High schools.

Kindergartners start next Thursday, Sept. 7.

Quilcene

All students in the Quilcene School District, including kindergartners, start classes Wednesday at Quilcene Elementary, Middle and High schools.

Brinnon

All students in the Brinnon School District, including preschoolers and kindergartners, start Wednesday at Brinnon School.

Chimacum

Students in first through 12th grades in the Chimacum School District start classes Tuesday at Chimacum Elementary, Primary, Middle and High schools.

Kindergartners start Friday, Sept. 8.
