SEQUIM — The School Board will ask voters to approve a two-year, $5.44 million maintenance and operations levy in an election Feb. 3.
Sequim School District board members Monday night unanimously approved the levy, which is projected to collect $1.31 per $1,000 assessed valuation during the 2004-05 and 2005-06 school years.
The owner of property valued at $100,000 would pay $131 annually for the maintenance and operations levy under the proposal.
If approved, the levy will replace a $4.63 million, two-year maintenance and operations levy which collects $1.21 per $1,000 in assessed valuation during 2003 and 2004.
