SEQUIM — School Board member Mac Sager has resigned his District 5 seat citing a lack of time to devote to the position.
Two years remain in Sager’s term.
Sager, who was elected to the seat in November 1999, could not be reached for comment Monday.
But in his resignation letter to school district officials, he said:
“At this crucial time for the district, more time and devotion are needed in the director position than I am willing to provide.
The district deserves a director who can offer the time and commitment needed the next few months and years.”
Sager moved to Sequim in 1997 and works as the financial analyst for Olympic Memorial Hospital District.
A special three-day filing period opens Wednesday for those seeking the position.
