SEQUIM — Sequim residents will have a final opportunity Monday to comment on plans for downtown revitalization during an open house.
The session is scheduled for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Sequim Community Center, 190 W. Cedar St.
In addition to commenting during the open house, the public will be able to submit written comments until Feb. 6 when the council discusses the project during a 9 a.m. workshop.
Local officials say revitalization is expected to make downtown more consumer-friendly and ensure the economic future of the core business area.
“We want people to know they’re entering a downtown area so they know they need to slow down, find a parking spot and spend money,” city Public Works Superintendent Jim Bay told the City Council on Monday night.
The area to be revitalized covers Cedar, Washington and Bell streets between Sunnyside to Fifth avenues.
