Sequim offering tourism grants

SEQUIM — The city of Sequim is accepting applications for tourism sustainability grants through Monday, May 24.

The grants, of up to $5,000, are available to nonprofit tourism-related organizations located within the boundaries Sequim School District.

The grants, which are funded by lodging tax funds, must be used for tourism marketing; marketing and operations of special events and festivals to attract tourists; supporting the operations and capital expenditures of tourism-related facilities owned or operated by a municipality or public facilities district; and supporting the operations of tourism-related facilities owned or operated by non-profit organizations.

Application guidelines are available on the www.sequimwa.gov under the COVID-19 information section.

Organizations may submit applications by email to bhanna@sequimwa.gov or by U.S. mail to Barbara Hanna, Communications and Marketing Director, City of Sequim, 152 West Cedar Street, Sequim, WA 98382.

Applications will be reviewed by the city’s Lodging Tax Advisory Committee at its quarterly meeting June 2.

Recommendations will be forwarded to the city council for consideration at its June 14 meeting.
