SEQUIM — The new Sequim Growers Cooperative Inc. has added a bit of green to its lavender with a grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The cooperative received a USDA Value-Added Producer Grant of $85,084 to add and market lavender products, said Tom Mix, president of the organization.
“We have completed all the preliminary steps of forming a cooperative while simultaneously developing a full line of products which showcase both our lavender and the talents of the crafters in our cooperative,”‘ Mix said in a statement Monday.
“With the funding from this grant, we will be able to get our high quality products to market under the Sequim Quality brand.”
