SEQUIM — A new princess has joined the 2018 Irrigation Festival Royalty Court for the remainder of the festival year.

“It’s really important for us to support these young ladies and we support (Eden) wanting to purse her academics,” Kapetan said in an interview.

“We’re proud of (Liliana) for stepping in for the festival.”

Kapetan said the Festival announced Batson’s departure last Friday on the Sequim Irrigation Festival Facebook page and Williams’ first official day as princess started when she was crowned.

Williams’ said she has looked up to festival royalty her whole life. Six members of her family were previous royalty and they inspired her to try out this year. Her platform is to work against bullying in schools and she enjoys the outdoors as well as spending time with her friends and family.
