A head-on crash in Sequim on Thursday night sent two people to Olympic Medical Center and closed a four-block stretch of West Washington Street for more than an hour while police investigated.
Sgt. Sheri Crain of the Sequim Police Department said the driver of a Buick LeSabre crossed the centerline just after passing through the intersection of Seventh Avenue and Washington Street and collided with a Jeep Liberty traveling westbound.
A driver and passenger in the Liberty sustained moderate injuries after its air bags deployed, Crain said.
A man driving the Buick was more seriously injured and was transported to the hospital after being extracted from his vehicle by firefighters.
His identity was not known.
The occupants of the Jeep are sisters. They were identified by friends as Carolyn “Ann”‘ Aure of Texas and Kaye Young of Florida.
Aure was transported to the hospital after complaining of pains in her chest and knees.
