SEQUIM — Neighbors have set up an account at a local bank for donations to assist a couple forced from their home Monday by the encroaching flood waters of Kinkade Creek, a tributary of the Dungeness River.
Jim Connel and Michele Karns of 3064 River Road saved most of their belongings before their house flooded. But by Wednesday afternoon their home was partially submerged.
Donations to The Connel Fund can be made at any branch of First Federal Savings and Loan.
Checks can be sent to First Federal Savings and Loan, P.O. Box 125, Sequim WA 98382.
The fund will help the couple defray flood-damage costs and expenses.
