SEQUIM — City Council members charged with interviewing candidates for a vacancy on the Planning Commission have recommended a one-time council applicant who serves on a local building and property committee to fill the post.
Mayor Bill Thomas recommended the appointment of Donald H. Hall, a retired quality assurance manager who serves on the Dungeness Valley Lutheran Church building and property management committees.
In March, Hall had applied to fill one of two vacancies on the City Council but was not chosen for the job.
Three candidates filed for the Planning Commission post following the resignation of Bonne Smith on Sept. 4.
Tom Michowski of Cricket Lane in Carlsborg and Judy Larson of Palo Verde Loop outside the Sequim city limit had also applied for the position.
