SEQUIM — It’s a best-of-Sequim photo convergence.
Charming storefronts.
Rows of houses that aren’t the same but fit together.
A church, a dreamy home, a sunny public spot.
A handsome roof or entryway, a rushing stream, a place where a couple can sit close.
City Hall wants them all — in pictures.
As they start the process of creating design standards for buildings with fewer than 20,000 square feet, Planning Director Dennis Lefevre and a citizens committee are asking residents to photograph their favorite examples of structures — and open space — around town.
The pictures should be either e-mailed in .jpg format to design@ci.sequim.wa.us or made into 4-by-6-inch prints and mailed to Deputy City Clerk Bobbie Usselman, City Hall, 152 W. Cedar St., Sequim, WA 98382.
“This is open to everyone,” not only city residents, Lefevre said.
Beloved and loathed
He wants to see which buildings or parts of buildings, recreation areas and other places are beloved — and which are loathed.
Photographers should add notes explaining what they enjoy or despise about the design element.
“If we got multiple pictures of one item that was a desired feature, that would give us good direction,” he added.
