SEQUIM — The City Council says it’s heard enough public comment on regional shopping centers.
In fact, the agenda for Monday night’s meeting contains an advisory that public comment on regional shopping center development won’t be accepted.
However, the public can comment on other issues.
Part of the reasoning is the prohibition on the council from considering or responding to comments on any items, including land use issues, that could be subject to future public hearings.
Mayor Walt Schubert said Friday there will have to be a public hearing before construction of any regional shopping center.
Schubert is promising at least one public meeting on the regional shopping center concept, whether there’s a proposal or not.
