SEQUIM — The City Council unanimously supported a controversial rezoning of 53 acres of property on the city’s west boundary Monday.
The council voted 7-0 to approve an ordinance returning the property owned by Leo Shipley to its pre-1996 zoning, allowing for higher housing density.
The action came despite strong opposition to the rezoning of the property located on the west side of Priest Road and north of Brackett Road, within the city Urban Growth Area.
