Monday is the deadline to nominate someone for the Citizen of the Year award given annually by the Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Nominations are made by letters outlining volunteer activities of potential honorees.
The chamber’s Jeri Smith said six people have been nominated, and that she had a call Wednesday about another possible nominee.
Nominations can be dropped off at the chamber office, 1095 E. Washington St. by 4 p.m. Monday.
A group of former honorees select the citizen of the year and two finalists. The three will be honored at the chamber’s Feb. 11 noon meeting.
Last year’s winner was Don Knapp, a longtime volunteer with the youth baseball program. His brother, Bud, several years earlier won the award for his activities with youth sports and community activities.
