Monday is the deadline to nominate someone for the Citizen of the Year award given annually by the Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Nominations are made by letters outlining volunteer activities of potential honorees.
The chamber’s Jeri Smith said six people have been nominated, and that she had a call Wednesday about another possible nominee.
Nominations can be dropped off at the chamber office, 1095 E. Washington St. by 4 p.m. Monday.
A group of former honorees select the citizen of the year and two finalists. The three will be honored at the chamber’s Feb. 11 noon meeting.Last year’s winner was Don Knapp, a longtime volunteer with the youth baseball program. His brother, Bud, several years earlier won the award for his activities with youth sports and community activities.
