Sekiu: Meeting on Highway 112 project postponed

A meeting in Sekiu with state Department of Transportation officials to discuss a culvert project on state Highway 112 has been rescheduled.

Transportation project engineer Jim Skinner will discuss the project’s start date, detour routes, detour maps and road signs on April 21 at 10:30 a.m. at The Breakwater Inn in Sekiu.

Transportation officials had planned to close the highway at Jim Creek, a mile east of Pysht, from mid-August through September.

They began looking at alternative start dates after business owners along the highway complained about detouring traffic during the busy tourist season.
