LAKE QUINAULT — A search and rescue team headed by Jefferson County continued looking for a missing Lewis County man in the Graves Creek area in West Jefferson County.
Authorities reported that Delmer W. Sample, 53, of Onalaska remained missing after his 1992 Ford R-10 pickup truck was found parked in a roadside pullout on South Shore Road near Lake Quinault.
Detectives found the truck locked with no information to help determine Sample’s whereabouts, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said.
Search and rescue groups on Friday combed nearby woods and creeks on the ground and from helicopters looking for traces of Sample.
“No information to his whereabouts has been recovered at this point,” said Sgt. Rich Smith, when the search temporarily ended on Friday.
“We found no evidence of any suspicious activity in the area.”
The search first began early Wednesday morning.
Launched by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, it included more than 35 participants and two search dogs.
