Absent any organized vocal opposition to school tax levies currently before voters in the Port Angeles and Quillayute Valley school districts, levy supporters continue campaigning with 13 days to go in the election.
The levy elections end Feb. 8, the final day for voters to mail or turn in their marked ballots.
As of Wednesday, 3,892 of the 18,600 ballots sent to voters in Port Angeles School District had been returned, according to the Clallam County Auditor’s Office in Port Angeles.
Of 3,050 levy ballots mailed to Quillayute Valley School District voters, 626 have been returned.
For each levy, 60 percent of voters must mark “yes” for the measures to be approved.
