Save Our Sequim sets meeting

SEQUIM — Save Our Sequim, a group devoted to halting plans for a medically-assisted drug treatmentfacility in Sequim, will discuss strategy when they meet at 5:30 p.m. today.

The group will meet at The Farm 579 West Sequim Bay Road, Sequim. All are welcome to attend.

The city of Sequim will host a special meeting at 6 p.m. Monday to provide information on its role in the permitting process for the facility and to gather input from residents.

The meeting will be at the Guy Cole Event Center at Carrie Blake Park, 22 N. Blake Ave.

A proposed $20 million facility is planned for 19.5 acres off Ninth Street west of Sequim’s downtown.

The potential development of the facility is part of a larger plan to build a behavioral health center that will be jointly operated by the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe and Olympic Medical Center.

The expectation is that the first phase would be a walk-in clinic.

For more information about the opposition to the plan, see saveoursequim.org.
