Rollover wreck near Port Townsend sends Sequim woman to hospital

PORT TOWNSEND — A one-vehicle rollover wreck on state Highway 20 on Monday morning sent a Sequim driver to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Washington State Patrol Trooper Chelsea Hodgson said a 1990 Chevy Blazer driven by Tamara Dziadek was traveling eastbound on Highway 20 at 7 a.m., about 9 miles southwest of Port Townsend.

According to State Patrol, witnesses observed the driver cross over the fog line several times. Dziadek over-corrected, crossed the center line and lost control. The vehicle rolled several times, coming to rest on its roof.

Dziadek’s leg was pinned and, once aid arrived on the scene, she was extricated and transported to Jefferson Healthcare with minor cuts and bruises.

Hodgson said Dziadek was not impaired and was cited for wheels off roadway. The Blazer was a total loss and was impounded by All City Towing in Port Townsend.

The eastbound lane of Highway 20 was closed for about two hours during the incident.
