PORT TOWNSEND — The Republican Women of Jefferson County recently announced several donations to local charities.
Carrie and Elinor Pierce recently presented a $500 check to the Humane Society of Jefferson County.
Lynne Hisey delivered a donation of 260 pounds of food, 17 pounds of pet food, and $100 to the Tri-Area Food Bank in Port Hadlock.
A check for $200 also was given to Tunnels 2 Towers, which provides money to build homes and pay off mortgages for veterans, first responders, and Gold Star families.
According to a press release, the organization has donated to a variety of nonprofits in previous years including Dove House, Backpacks for Kids, and Pennies for Quarters.
