Pearl Harbor Day will be observed in Sequim at two separate events today and Tuesday.
State Rep. Jim Buck, R-Joyce, will raise the American flag at 11 a.m. today at Marlyn Nelson Memorial Park in Port Williams.
On Tuesday, Pearl Harbor survivor C. W. “Wink” Mays will present to the VFW Post 4760 a flag from the casket of Marlyn Nelson, a Sequim man who served aboard the USS California and was killed in the Dec. 7, 1941, military attack on the U.S. naval installation at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
The presentation is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the VFW Hall, 169 E. Washington St., Sequim.
