PORT ANGELES — First Presbyterian Church, 139 W. Eighth St., will celebrate its centennial today.
Organized March 19, 1914, by the Presbytery of Seattle with 27 charter members, the church now has 213 members and has been in its current location since 1957.
Services today will include “Come, Celebrate, Rejoice!,” composed by Anna Nichols.
A luncheon will follow services.
Author Holz to talk
PORT ANGELES — Guest Robbie Holz will speak at Unity in the Olympics, 2917 E. Myrtle St., at the 10:30 a.m. worship service Sunday.
Holz, a wellness consultant and author, will teach “Let Your Soul Guide Your Life — Enjoy the Ride!”
She also will conduct a workshop, “Can You Hear Me Now?,” from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The workshop is offered for $20, but no one will be turned away.
A time for meditation is held every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.
Everyone is welcome to attend all church activities.
Film to screen
SEQUIM — “Tender Mercies,” a 1983 movie starring Robert Duvall, will be shown at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave., at 7 p.m. Friday, March 21.
In the movie, part of Trinity’s Faith in Film series, Duvall portrays a broken-down, middle-aged country singer who gets a new wife, reaches out to his long-lost daughter and tries to put his troubled life back together.
The movie and popcorn are free.
