PORT HADLOCK — United Good Neighbors has announced that Bonnie Douglass is the recipient of its 2019 Good Neighbor Award.
According to a press release, Douglass is being honored for her work with the Weekend Nutrition Program.
Douglass, a Quilcene resident and member of the Boeing Bluebills, has been involved with the program since its inception five years ago.
The program began by providing weekend food for Quilcene students in 2014.
In 2015, it expanded to include students in Brinnon as well.
Douglass also has served the community as Hood Canal coordinator for World Vision Supplies, as president of the Quilcene Brinnon Garden Club, as an active member of the Quilcene Lions Club and as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.
