QUILCENE — The 62-year-old man who allegedly shot a neighbor to death over a domestic violence situation was charged with second-degree murder Wednesday.
Gary L. Middleton was charged in Jefferson County Superior Court in Port Townsend for allegedly shooting to death Douglas “Tony” Knight, 45, of Quilcene.
If convicted, Middleton faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.
Jefferson County Undersheriff Ken Sukert said the killing may have been related to Middleton’s involvement in a domestic violence situation between Knight and his wife, Donna, whom he said lived in the same neighborhood.
