PORT TOWNSEND — You won’t need to find an Internet cafe if you attend this coming weekend’s Wooden Boat Festival.
The entire festival venue will be a free Wi-Fi —- wireless Internet — service area for anyone with a wireless-enabled laptop computer or PDA within a half-mile radius of Point Hudson Marina.
After Sunday’s conclusion of the festival, the Port of Port Townsend will offer Wi-Fi along the Port Townsend waterfront, including the Boat Haven and Point Hudson marinas.
The Wooden Boat Festival’s service begins Thursday and is being set up by Mobilisa, the Port Townsend-based wireless technology company that’s one of the sponsors of this year’s Wooden Boat Festival.
Mobilisa is already making Wi-Fi news by test-marketing its wireless service on popular Washington State Ferries runs.
