PORT TOWNSEND — When Seb Eggert and his crew build a staircase or mantel, he likes to hide a little something inside — a bottle of wine or a handwritten note — which he hopes will be discovered by someone in the future.
“We like to put a time capsule in everything we do,” the Port Townsend builder says.
Eggert has now put together time capsule, to be opened by Port Townsend residents in 2101, that will be housed inside the base of new historical bronze plaque at Union Wharf.
The plaque and time capsule will be unveiled by Mayor Geoff Masci during ceremonies July 4 beginning at 1 p.m.
The ceremonies are part of the celebration of Port Townsend’s 150th anniversary.
