SEQUIM’S MUSIC IN the Park, Port Townsend’s Concert on the Dock and Fort Flagler Summer Concerts are ending their music for the summer.
Here’s the week’s schedule as free outdoor concerts wind down across the North Olympic Peninsula:
■ PORT TOWNSEND SUMMER BAND — Today, 3 p.m., John Pope Marine Park, Water and Monroe streets.
Popular music by the 40-member band.
Bring lawn chairs, blankets, family and a picnic.
Next PT Summer Band concert: Sunday, Sept. 7, joint concert with Sequim City Band in Chimacum Schools auditorium.
■ SEQUIM MUSIC IN THE PARK (last in this summer’s series) — Tuesday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Navy Band Northwest (jazz, marches, patriotic favorites, popular music).
Sequim’s Music in the Park is at the outdoor James Center amphitheater in the Sequim Water Reuse Park, 563 N. Rhodefer Road, just north of Carrie Blake Park.
Bring a lawn chair or blanket to the grassy expanse in front of the amphitheater and a picnic meal to enjoy while listening to the performance.
■ PORT ANGELES CONCERT ON THE PIER (next-to-last concert) — Wednesday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Joy in Mudville (formerly known as Deadwood Revival; old-time bluegrass, jam-band, Motown, rock, funk, blues).
Held on City Pier and sponsored by the Port Angeles Regional Chamber of Commerce and local businesses, this music series concludes Sept. 3.
Dancing is encouraged at the concerts. City Pier is a dog-friendly, no-smoking, no-skateboards, no-alcohol venue.
Some chairs are available for the disabled and early arrivals. There are two snack and beverage vendors.
Concerts are moved to the roofed Gateway transit center, Lincoln and Front streets, if there’s rain.
“Bubble Man” Greg Bondy provides entertainment for kids at Concert on the Pier with chalk for pavement drawing and a bubble-making machine.
Last Concert on the Pier, Sept. 3: Ian McFeron (popular rock).
■ PORT TOWNSEND CONCERT ON THE DOCK (last in this summer’s series) — Thursday, 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Dirty Beat Duo (house trance and funky dance music), with opening by the Stars of Tomorrow competition winner, Hanna Trailer.
Sponsored by the Port Townsend Main Street Program and local businesses, Concert on the Dock is at the Pope Marine Plaza in downtown Port Townsend.
Bring a chair or blanket and your shades. With lots of danceable music, the concert is for all ages.
A wine, beer and cider garden for concertgoers is available at the plaza beginning at 4:30 p.m.
■ FORT FLAGLER SUMMER CONCERTS (last in this summer’s series) — Sunday, Aug. 31, at 5 p.m., Navy Band Northwest (jazz, marches, patriotic favorites, popular music) at Battery Bankhead (follow signs) in Fort Flagler State Park.
Sponsored by the Friends of Fort Flagler. Food and beverages will be available for sale.
Fort Flagler is at 10541 Flagler Road on Marrowstone Island.
No Discovery Pass is needed.
