PORT TOWNSEND –– It’s time to strap on the lederhosen and wax up the mustache as the Port Townsend Main Street program throws an early Oktoberfest pub crawl tonight.
Seven venues will provide drink and food specials to provide an autumn social outlet.
“We are lucky in Port Townsend to have so many fun places to enjoy each other’s company,” said Mari Mullen, executive director of the Main Street program.
“The pub crawl is the perfect excuse to go out with friends and have an affordable night on the town.”
For the price of a $10 ticket, each attendee will receive a special souvenir glass and a wristband that allows entry to the specials at participating venues.
The ticket package also includes passports that can be stamped at each location and entered into drawings for gift certificates valued at $75.
Those participating in the pub crawl are the Tin Brick, 232 Taylor St.; Middletown Dreams Pinbar, 213 Taylor St.; Sirens, 823 Water St.; Fins Coastal Cuisine, 1019 Water St.; Doc’s Marina Grill, 141 Hudson St.; The Public House, 1038 Water St.; and the Uptown Pub, 1016 Lawrence St.
Tickets are available at www.ptmainstreet.org or at each venue.
Each of the participating restaurants is offering a designated driver special, from free sodas to specially made, discounted nonalcoholic beverages.
Today’s pub crawl is the third Main Street has sponsored this year, following a St. Patrick’s Day in March and a summer solstice celebration in June.
Another holiday-themed crawl is slated for Dec. 22, with participants encouraged to wear Santa garb.
