PORT TOWNSEND — A Port Townsend police officer was fired Nov. 28 for ‘several’ reasons, according to Chief Kristen Anderson.
Anderson refused to cite specific reasons for terminating Eric Franz from the department.
Franz was employed by the department for five years. He was the department’s K-9 officer.
Franz and his domestic partner, Susan Burgos, are disputing the department’s handling of the issue.
They claim the case was handled improperly and the department had an agenda against Franz.
As of Friday, the city hadn’t provided documents regarding the termination requested by the Peninsula Daily News.
City Attorney John Watts said he is still reviewing the request and documents requested.
