PORT HADLOCK — The man accused of beating a disabled resident to obtain medical marijuana was charged Tuesday with assault.
Jefferson County Attorney Juelie Dalzell filed the second-degree assault charge against Justin Richard Brown, 20, in Jefferson County Superior Court in Port Townsend.
The crime is a Class B felony, carrying a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $20,000.
He is accused of beating 45-year-old Cleve Wall with a blunt object last Thursday.
Investigators allege Brown, of 2540 Sheridan Ave., Port Townsend, attacked Wall to get the man’s medical marijuana.
Wall, who is wheelchair-bound, is prescribed marijuana for pain caused by a previous gunshot wound and car wreck injuries, court records show.
