Plans to close Hood Canal Bridge in 2006 will be addressed during a meeting in Port Townsend on Friday.
The Peninsula Regional Transportation Policy Organization will meet from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St. A 15-minute update on the Hood Canal Bridge closure will take place at 10 a.m.
Port Townsend City Manager David Timmons said he will attend to discuss ideas the city has developed to soften the impacts of the eight-week bridge closure.
The meeting will also address construction of a second Tacoma Narrows Bridge and other topics.
The closure of Hood Canal Bridge has drawn concern from North Olympic Peninsula business owners worried that tourism will decline because of limited transportation alternatives during the closure.
