Port Townsend city officials have rejected bids for the cleanup of Northwest Maritime Center property formerly owned by Thomas Oil.
An error discovered during bid opening Wednesday prompted the rejections, Public Works Department spokeswoman Katherine McNabb said.
“There was a material error in the bid document,”‘ McNabb said.
The error skewed bid figures for the project, which involves razing six buildings and excavating 700 yards of contaminated soil on the 1.4-acre property.
The city — the pass-through agent — received eight bids.
