Port Townsend: City Council adds to manager’s contract, passes 2002 budget

The Port Townsend City Council increased City Manager David Timmons’ severance package to one year from eight months during a business meeting Monday evening.

The city will also contribute 12.5 percent of his salary to his pension fund, up from 8.5 percent, under the amended contract.

The council approved the changes 5-1 with new council member Catharine Robinson voting no.

The council also unanimously approved the $22.3 million budget for 2002.

It includes $6.6 million in the General Fund, $3 million allocated to the Capital Improvement Fund and $3.4 million to the Water/Sewer Fund.
