Port Townsend: Arson suspected in house fire

PORT TOWNSEND — Police investigators say they think a weekend house fire was caused by an arsonist.

An unoccupied house in the 2800 block of Discovery Road went up in flames around 11:30 p.m. Saturday night.

The fire occurred just a block from where a parked police car was torched nearly one year ago. Police officials were unavailable to comment Monday on whether the fires might be connected.

Police and fire officials are seeking information in Saturday night’s fire, Port Townsend Fire Department spokesman Patrick Young said Monday.

Some witnesses reported seeing people in the area, he said.

Anyone with information may call the Police Department at 360-385-2322 or Fire Department at 360-385-2626.
