PORT TOWNSEND — A Port of Port Townsend advisory group working with Port officials and an Everett-based engineering firm has come up with four Point Hudson Marina concepts to reconfigure and improve docks at the heavily used marina.
Four proposed concepts were presented at the Port commissioners’ meeting Wednesday at the nearby Point Hudson Marina Room.
“What we did was, we gave the advisory committee scaled drawings of the marina and with no slips,” said Jim Pivarnik, Port facilities manager.
“We asked them to draw in what they saw as the needs.”
The Point Hudson Marina project is a part of Port’s 20-year capital improvements plan, which was approved last year.
Besides building new docks, the Port proposes reconfiguring the docks to add boat moorage at the 71-year-old Point Hudson site.
Up to current codes
The work will be to provide some improvements and bring many aspects up to current building and safety codes.
Pivarnik said drawings of the four concepts will be posted Monday on the Port’s Web site at www.portofpt.com so the public can examine them and make additional comments.
