HOOD CANAL — A 20-year-old Port Ludlow man was in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle on Thursday after a motorcycle collision on Wednesday.
Kaleb K. Hatch was riding a black 2005 Kawasaki EX500 eastbound on state Highway 104 across the Hood Canal Bridge at about 5:27 p.m. Wednesday when he failed to negotiate a curve that intersects with Highway 3 about 6 miles north of Poulsbo, according to the State Patrol.
Hatch lost control of the motorcycle when he attempted to turn right onto southbound Highway 3, troopers said.
He was airlifted to Harborview and was in the intensive care unit Thursday, hospital spokesperson Susan Gregg said.
The State Patrol report said Hatch does not have a motorcycle endorsement and it was unknown whether he was wearing a helmet.
The cause was under investigation, according to the State Patrol report. Charges are pending, troopers said.
