PORT LUDLOW — The Port Ludlow Festival won’t take place this year.
Instead, the event, which would have turned 3 years old this summer, will be replaced by several smaller events, organizer Don Cooper said Wednesday.
“It’s just too expensive to put it on,” he said. “With the build-out near the marina, there’s no space to have it.”
The Port Ludlow Village Council previously sponsored the event to raise funds for its operations.
Without the festival, it may turn to new celebrations like a chowder chow down, a salmon barbecue or an oriental feast.
Talks on organizing such events are already under way, Cooper said, noting a fund-raising event is currently being planned for June 8.
