PORT LUDLOW — Three property owners on Inner Harbor are claiming that the county lacks jurisdiction to order removal of their boat mooring buoys.
And they are preparing to fight back against a county lawsuit.
Jefferson County filed suit in Superior Court last month against Del and Shirley Jacobs, Jim and Carol Thomas and Jim W. Fryklund after orders to remove the buoys were ignored.
The problem, as Del Jacobs sees it, is that the county itself gave the property owners permission to install the buoys.
“I feel stabbed in the back,” he said Saturday.
“I just don’t think what the county is doing is honorable.”
County officials, including Commissioner Glen Huntingford, R-Chimacum, and Administrator David Goldsmith, have admitted the county erred in granting the permission.
