PORT HADLOCK — Tellers at the Bank of America branch cheered and applauded Wednesday when they heard of an arrest in connection with Friday’s robbery.
“All you can hear is relief,” said Manager Kathie Hamilton of the branch at 10 Oak Bay Road.
“It’s been the talk all day with every customer who has come in.”
Bob Anderson, chief criminal deputy for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, credited the many people who had called with tips about the robbery as well as the role of the news media.
The arrest of Robert Daniel Jones in a Port Angeles tavern Wednesday morning came after the bar owners saw a bank security camera photo of the robber that was published in Wednesday’s Peninsula Daily News.
