The 23-year-old Port Hadlock man hit by a car on Cedar Avenue on Wednesday has been upgraded to satisfactory condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, hospital spokeswoman Kristin Foley said Thursday.
John C. Underwood was walking alongside the road when he was struck by a pickup truck driven by Michael J. Staley, 16, of Port Hadlock just before 2:30 p.m.
There was no word Thursday on developments in the investigation of the collision.
The crash is being considered as a possible assault, Washington State Patrol Sgt. Ken Przygocki said.
