The investigation’s over, but Chimacum-based firefighters say they have yet to determine the cause of a blaze that left two Port Hadlock families homeless last week.
“They cannot come up with a cause,” said Denise Manly, public information officer for Jefferson County Fire Protection District No. 1. “They can’t pinpoint what started it.”
Monday, Jefferson County Undersheriff Ken Sukert said investigators had ruled out arson as the cause of the fire.
On Wednesday, Manly said the arson task force investigation ended.
“From the task force’s view it’s undetermined,” she said of the cause.
